Why Melano Therapy Proudly Calls St. Clair West Home
There are a lot of considerations when you’re first choosing a therapy practice. First and foremost, you want to ensure that the therapist is the right fit for you. But it isn’t only about finding the right practitioner, logistics matter too. You want someone with a rate that makes sense for you. Someone who has open availability during times when you can actually come to session. If you’re looking for in-person therapy, you also want to ensure that you find an office close to you and an environment where you feel safe, comfortable, and at ease. That’s why when I established Melano Therapy, I made the intentional decision to have it located at 728 St. Clair Ave W.
The Humewood-Cedarvale and Wychwood neighbourhood is central and full of energy. Right outside of the office, you can find lovely cafes and lively restaurants. While St. Clair West is a busy and energetic part of Midtown Toronto, my second-floor office is quiet and welcoming. I wanted to ensure that folks felt comfortable in this private and warm space.
I know that going to therapy can be overwhelming, especially during that first session, so I wrote this article to make sure your commute, arrival, and experience is as easy and stress free as possible. In this article, I’ll walk through the following:
- Finding the office: a step-by-step breakdown
- TTC Transit and Easy Parking Options
- The St. Clair West community
By the end, I hope you’ll have a better understanding of how to get to the office, feel more confident about commuting, and know more about what the neighbourhood has to offer.

Finding the Office: A Step-by-Step Breakdown
I’ve spoken to so many clients who have shared getting the first session jitters in anticipation of their appointment. It makes total sense, therapy is a deeply vulnerable endeavour, and speaking with someone new can bring up a lot of emotions. So, we don’t need to add logistical issues, like finding the office to our list of nerves.
To make your arrival as easy as possible, here is exactly what to expect when you visit Melano Therapy:
- Enter the Building: When you arrive at 728 St. Clair Ave W, you’ll see a sign that says “Melano Therapy”; you can walk straight into the main entrance.
- Head Upstairs: Our clinic is located on the second floor. Walk up the stairs, make a left and you will see a door with “Melano Therapy” on it.
- Have a Seat: We share a quiet, dedicated waiting area with another trusted therapy practice. Please make yourself comfortable in one of the brown chairs.
- Help Yourself: There is a fridge with water and a bathroom just to the right of the waiting room. Help yourself to whatever you need prior to your session.
- Your Session Begins: There is no need to check in at a front desk or ring a buzzer. I will come out to personally meet you right at the time of our scheduled appointment.
If during any part of the process you experience any issues (e.g., you cannot find the office, the door is locked, I don’t come within 5 minutes of our appointment time) you can call me at 647 323 6577 or contact me via email at julieta@melanotherapy.com. I am quite responsive and here to help!

TTC Transit and Easy Parking Options
It is so stressful to go to an appointment for the first time and getting lost or not finding parking. There’s nothing worse than leaving on time then being late as a result of logistical issues. Melano Therapy offers really straightforward transit and parking options:
- By Transit (TTC): We are a straightforward 15-minute walk from St. Clair West Station (Line 1), just walk west on St. Clair Ave. W and you’ll find the office on your right.
- Alternatively, you can hop on the 512 or 126 St. Clair Streetcars from the station, which take about 8 minutes from the station and drop you off just steps from the front door.
- By Car and Parking: Drivers don’t need to worry about confusing or unreliable parking. There is a convenient Green P parking located directly behind our building, alongside accessible street parking right along St. Clair Ave W and small surrounding streets.

The St. Clair West Community
Sometimes it’s nice to know there’s stuff to do before or after a session. Many clients have routines they set up in anticipation of their appointment or to unwind post-therapy. The Humewood-Wychwood area provides a really nice backdrop for your session.
Because the office is hidden away from the street noise on the second floor, we’ll have a quiet, calm session, then afterwards you can step right back out into a warm and lively community. If you’re looking for a routine after the session you can grab a tea at the downstairs cafe. The residential streets just north of the office are quiet and picturesque if you want to take a mindful walk. Humewood Park and Wychwood Barns Park are both short walks away if you prefer something a little more green.
I am so proud to have made the St. Clair West area the home of Melano Therapy. It’s such a supportive and wonderful neighbourhood, and I hope you will feel welcomed by it, too.
